We are deeply invested in our local community of Baltimore City. One responsibility we believe we have is to use our company as a tool for change. It is extremely important to our company to bring positive, measurable growth to the communities in which we operate our business in. We’ve been honored to work with great community organizations and be a part of a number of impactful projects within Baltimore City.
Being able to bring in local apprentices, tradesmen, and laborers has been a rewarding experience across various Four Twelve projects. For our extensive 1600 Barclay construction project, we were able to supply 2,000+ hours for local workers. Getting to work with and train young men across the city in usable skills makes each project we complete extremely rewarding to all of us at Four Twelve.
Since Four Twelve has been in business, we have had the great fortune to work alongside many non-profits and the State of Maryland to deliver discounted roof replacement and repair projects for seniors and low-income individuals. These projects have been some of the most rewarding experiences for the team at Four Twelve. One such project as our Legacy Resident Renovation Project in conjunction with Jubilee Baltimore, a non-profit dedicated to rebuilding homes across the city. The team at Jubilee had recognized a local resident of Baltimore who’s home was in critical, unsafe condition. Together, with funding from NHS Baltimore, we were able to deliver an extensive renovation to the home of this resident. We were also able to create 304 hours of work on this project for local tradesmen in the neighborhood.
During the years 2016 and 2017, Four Twelve partnered with Greenmount West Montessori School to identify gifted and talented math, science, and art students in their middle school program for an immersive and multi-disciplinary project run locally in Greenmount West. Four Twelve worked with these students over the course of the month to do historic architectural walking tours, show them how to use construction tools. They also performed a capstone project where middle school students designed and constructed an outdoor pergola out of cedar, which now serves as an entrance gate into the school’s vegetable garden on campus.
Four Twelve as a company has always represented our desire to make our city a better place for all who live here. Whether that be ensuring our clients have a top-tier roofing contractor they can rely on, or involving ourselves with great initiatives across the city that help unify us all. We’re always looking for more opportunities to help unify the city. If you’d like to collaborate with Four Twelve on a community project, please contact us.
